Elevate, in numbers
Elevate is Illinois Tech's career-readiness pathway. Each year, students work through a short checklist of career activities: meet a success coach, polish a resume, join a student group, and complete a hands-on Elevate experience such as a job simulation, a research project or a career event.
This deck shows how far undergraduates got on the 2025–26 first-year and second-year checklists, as of October 18, 2026. Use the toggles on each page to cut the numbers by year and by who signed up. Arrow keys, swipe or the buttons below move between pages.
From the checklist to the finish line
Hover a row for what it means.
Elevate experiences completed this year: 74 by first-year students and 26 by second-year students. Each is hands-on work a student can show an employer.
Gold, silver and bronze
Every student who has started gets a color that shows how much of their checklist is done.
Gold means every activity is finished, including two electives (8 in Year 1, 9 in Year 2). Silver means the Elevate experience is the only activity finished so far. Bronze means two to four activities are finished.
Click a medal for what it means. Silver is rare: students who complete an Elevate experience almost always complete other activities too.
Everyone who has started, by how far they got
Each segment is a group of students. Hover for counts.
What students completed
Each bar is one checklist activity and how many students finished it.
Meeting a success coach is the most common first step in both years. The starred bar is the Elevate experience, the hands-on centerpiece of each year. Grey bars are electives, the two activities students choose for themselves.
First-year checklist
What this tells us
Once students start, about one in three finish everything.62 of the 179 students who started reached gold.
Students signed up but have not started yet.Of 402 who signed the Elevate terms, 179 have started. Helping the rest take a first step is the biggest opportunity.
Hands-on Elevate experiences completed.Job simulations, research, career events and more, each one evidence a student can put in a portfolio.

How far students got
Progress through the required items
Gold counts every activity. These benchmarks count only the required items, the core of each checklist: 6 in Year 1 and 7 in Year 2.
Milestones are cumulative: a student who finished every required item also counts at 25%, 50% and 75%. Bands and grades count each student once. With only 6 or 7 required items, some grade bands are naturally empty.
Switch to Started only to leave out students who have not begun, so the progress of active students is easier to see.

Could riseThis is a snapshot
The numbers come from the 312 checklist reports exported October 18, 2026, just after the October 16 deadline. Approvals entered in 312 after that date would raise them.
Context“On the checklist” is the eligible pool
Students were placed into the Elevate groups automatically from their eligibility tags at launch, so this count is every eligible first-year and second-year undergraduate, not only students who chose to take part. The 402 students who signed the terms are the better measure of who opted in.
Small changeOnly undergraduates are counted
Staff, graduate, law and alumni accounts in the Elevate groups, including Elevate staff and coaches, were removed. That took 21 accounts off the lists and one from the “started” count (180 → 179). Gold, silver and bronze did not change.
CreditedLost signatures are credited
16 students who started their checklist had no signature on record, including 3 who reached gold. The way students signed changed several times during the Fall 2025 launch, and 312 administrator settings were reset in the middle of it, so these students most likely signed before the record was lost. They are counted as signed here, and their signatures are being confirmed in 312.
Could riseSome electives still need review
Some students may have elective activities that have not yet been assessed and credited in 312. As those submissions are reviewed and approved, gold, the activity counts and the progress benchmarks may rise.
No effectGraduation years can look off
312 reports the graduation year stored in each student record, which can lag behind changes or be blank, so some students’ years look unusual for their group. The counts are not affected.
